Krispy Kreme Peach Cobbler!!

Ingredients:

  • Peach Layer:
  • 2 (16 oz) boxes of frozen peaches
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 stick Land O’ Lakes butter
  • Cinnamon, to taste
  • A pinch of nutmeg
  • 2 Tbsp corn starch
  • A little water
  • Custard Mixture:
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 cup Carnation milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • Cinnamon, to taste
  • Doughnut Layer:
  • 2 boxes of Krispy Kreme doughnuts

Instructions:

  1. Prep the Peach Layer:
  • In a large saucepan, combine the frozen peaches, 1/2 cup brown sugar, butter, a generous sprinkle of cinnamon, and a pinch of nutmeg.
  • Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the peaches are warmed through and the sugar starts to dissolve, about 10 minutes.
  1. Thicken the Peach Mixture:
  • In a small bowl, mix the corn starch with just enough water to create a smooth slurry.
  • Gradually stir the slurry into the peach mixture. Continue to cook and stir until the mixture thickens, about 3-5 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
  1. Prepare the Custard Mixture:
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the heavy whipping cream, Carnation milk, eggs, 1/4 cup brown sugar, and a dash of cinnamon. Whisk until fully mixed and slightly frothy.
  1. Soak the Doughnuts:
  • Cut the Krispy Kreme doughnuts into halves or quarters, depending on your preference.
  • Submerge the doughnut pieces in the custard mixture, letting them soak for about 5 minutes to absorb the liquid.
  1. Assemble the Cobbler:
  • Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C).
  • Transfer the thickened peach mixture to a large baking dish, creating an even layer on the bottom.
  • Carefully layer the soaked doughnuts on top of the peach mixture. If desired, drizzle a bit more of the custard mixture over the doughnuts or add extra peach slices for more flavor and texture.
  1. Bake the Cobbler:
  • Place the baking dish in the oven and bake for about 20 minutes, or until the top is slightly golden and the peaches are bubbly.
  1. Serving:
  • Allow the cobbler to cool slightly before serving. This dessert pairs wonderfully with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.

Tips:

  • Variations: You can experiment by adding different spices like ginger or allspice to the peach mixture for a unique flavor.
  • Serving Size: This recipe makes enough to serve about 8-10 people, making it perfect for family gatherings or potlucks.
  • Storage: Leftover cobbler can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated in the microwave or oven.
