Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef, cooked and drained
- 1 cup Three Cheese Pasta Sauce (or your favorite pasta sauce)
- 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
- 1½ cups shredded Italian cheese blend (about 6 oz)
- ¼ teaspoon dried basil leaves
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet, mix the cooked ground beef and pasta sauce. Heat the mixture to boiling over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally.
- While the meat mixture is heating, prepare the crescent roll crust. Separate the dough into 8 triangles. Place the dough in an ungreased 9-inch glass pie plate in a spoke pattern, with the narrow tips overlapping the rim of the plate by about 3 inches. Press the dough into the sides and bottom of the pie plate to form the crust.
- Sprinkle 1 cup of the shredded Italian cheese blend over the bottom of the crescent roll crust.
- Spoon the heated meat mixture evenly over the cheese.
- Bring the tips of the dough over the filling to meet in the center, but do not overlap them.
- Sprinkle the remaining ½ cup of shredded Italian cheese blend over the top of the casserole, and then sprinkle the dried basil leaves over the cheese.
- Bake the casserole in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Once baked, remove the casserole from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
Enjoy your delicious Italian Crescent Casserole!
